Who am I?

Hi,

First of all, thanks for visiting this page and I value your time. My full name is Abdul Sami, you can call me as Sam (My close friends honor) or Sami (My family members) or Abdul (Most of the companies where I have worked).

I am a software professional by hobby, this journey started from child hood where I was crazy about mathematics or any subject which involves numbers. During my child hood, I had a  good (may be it was bad habit for teachers) of solving all the mathematics problems written in my school books as soon as I get the books. I used to get nice scoldings from teachers for this act. Any ways, its a long story. As I was growing, I saw the IT world which had a programming concept and for me it was kinda Math again. Tasted FORTRAN, COBOL and PASCAL initially and I loved it.

But you know the IT industry and changing world. C, C++ came up. This made me more interesting in writing the code using standard alphabets to deal the numbers and problematic situations. I focused, all the areas of C, C++ and Oracle during my engineering degree along with all other subjects which had some math in it. I hate reading theories which doesn't involve numbers or there are no equations.

After completing my engineering degree, I started looking for a job in Chemical Industry (because, I took specialization in this area in my degree; this is another story where I was crazy about chemistry too as that involves dealing all the chemical reactions). I got a job in this area where I had to deal with Patent research.

I was happy with my job, every thing was going good but my hobby of programming didn't allow me to keep quite. I used to write lot of Macros/VBA projects to deal lot business processes involved in my day to day work. Finally, I landed up completely focusing programming with in 2 years of my first job.

Now, after 2 years of my first job I became a full time IT professional. Had to work through various IT industries.

Today, I hold 12+ years of experience in programming. This number is the official number that I declare in terms of the companies that  I worked for. But honestly, this number is greater than that.

So, what I did in these 12 years. Short answer is, I had great fun in coding and still I am having it.

You can refer my linked in profile to understand the history of my employment.
